Two more people are now in custody related to a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.
A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.
These detentions follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was among the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been released.
Officers arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault near the location. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Police were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people hurt by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.
The attack - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
